Sky Contours
Privacy
Sky Contours is a night sky for one place. It does not ask you to make an account, and it does not sell anything you type or tap.
Location
The round button beside search asks the phone for where you are. That only happens if you tap it and then allow it. The coordinates are used to draw the sky for that spot. They are not kept as a profile.
If you type a place instead, that name is sent to find the spot on the map. You can refuse location and still use Sky Contours.
What stays on your phone
Saved places and saved sky searches stay in this browser on this phone. Sky Contours has no account to delete. To clear them, use the browser setting that clears data for this site, or remove a saved place inside the app.
What leaves the phone
A place you search is sent to Open-Meteo so the name can be turned into a spot on the map. Choosing on a map loads pictures from OpenStreetMap, and the name of a pin is looked up there. The horizon reads public elevation pictures for that spot. The Lid box sends the place to Open-Meteo for the inversion forecast.
The moon and the magnitudes are worked out on the phone. They are not sent anywhere. A share picture or link leaves the phone only when you send it.
